New Turf for the UniActive Hockey Field

Work has commenced on the upgrade of the university Hockey Turf! The resurfacing of the field will improve the quality of the facility and bring the field in line with stringent Hockey Australia and Federation International Hockey standards.

The new surface will also improve current drainage flow rates and safe playing parameters.

a new name and new look

We have some exciting news. We’re stepping up our game with a new name and a new look! From 19th August 2017 UOW Recreation and Aquatic Centre (URAC) and iChealth will be known as… UniActive!

Why the change? UniActive forms part of a new ‘family’ of businesses and programs managed by UOW Pulse Ltd which are tasked with delivering a campus service experience to meet the needs of an ever evolving campus life. The ‘family’ also includes UniShop, UniBar, UniClubs and UniLife for communications on campus. UniActive was selected as our new name after consultation with stakeholder groups.

So what can you expect from UniActive? You can expect the same friendly team and the same high quality equipment and facilities at two great locations, Wollongong Campus and Innovation Campus.

As sad as we’ll be to say goodbye to ‘URAC’ and ‘iChealth’, we’re also thrilled about our fresh new look and direction. Our new brand will be rolled out over the remainder of the year so stay tuned for the exciting transformation!
